Short answers, one line each

Every answer here is a single sentence you can act on, with the detail a click away. If a question has an uncomfortable answer, the uncomfortable answer is the one printed.

Is the three-week trial real?

Yes. First-time undergraduates attend real classes for real credit and owe nothing if they leave inside the window. Full detail.

Who does the trial exclude?

Graduate programmes, returning students, non-degree-seeking students and certain independent-model programmes.

What happens in week four?

The full term becomes payable, including the three weeks that were free.

Is there an application fee?

No.

Do trial credits count if I stay?

Yes. The classes are real and completed work counts toward the degree.

What does the RN-to-BSN cost per credit?

$371 per quarter credit hour on the standard track, published 1 July 2026.

What does the MSN cost?

$420 per quarter credit hour standard, or $3,200 per ten-week term on ExcelTrack.

What does the whole BSN cost?

Roughly $16,700 to $33,400, decided by how many of the 180 credits you still have to buy. The arithmetic.

How many credits does the BSN need?

A minimum of 180 quarter credit hours in total.

How much prior credit can I get?

Up to 75% of an undergraduate degree, through seven routes. The routes.

Do I get credit for nursing experience?

At undergraduate level yes; graduate programmes are not eligible for credit for experience.

What grade do transferred courses need?

A minimum of C− at undergraduate level.

Are books included?

Yes. The instructional-materials fee is waived for undergraduates.

Does Purdue Global accept financial aid?

Yes, on the basis of its HLC institutional accreditation.

Can the tuition rate change?

Yes, on thirty days' notice. Rates carry an effective date.

Is military training worth credit?

Yes. It is assessed for academic credit as one of the seven prior-learning routes.

Is Purdue Global a real Purdue degree?

It is a real degree from a separately accredited university inside the Purdue system, and it is not the West Lafayette campus.

Is Purdue Global accredited?

Yes: HLC institutionally, and CCNE for the nursing programmes on a ten-year approval granted in 2021.

Is it for-profit?

No. It became a public nonprofit inside the Purdue system when Purdue acquired it in 2018.

What does the diploma say?

Purdue University Global.

Will credits transfer to West Lafayette?

Not automatically. They are separately accredited with separate transcripts.

Do employers accept the degree?

For nursing hiring and licensure the test is CCNE accreditation, which it holds.

Should I choose it for the name?

No. If prestige is the purchase, a state university does that job better.

What platform does it use?

Brightspace, made by D2L.

What is a Unit?

The building block of a course — content, discussion and assignments grouped together. More.

What is a Seminar?

A live, scheduled session with the instructor, recorded for those who cannot attend.

How long is a term?

Ten weeks for undergraduates.

When can I start?

Monthly. There is nearly always an intake within a few weeks.

What is ExcelTrack?

The competency-based route, billed by the term rather than the credit. Whether it suits you.

Is ExcelTrack easier?

No. It is faster for people who already know the material and offers less structure to everyone else.

What counts as attendance?

Submitting graded work. Logging in and viewing a Seminar do not.

What happens at day twelve?

No attendance in any class means administrative withdrawal from the programme.

What happens at day twenty-one?

A course with no attendance is removed from your schedule and never reaches your transcript.

Is the ExcelTrack rule different?

Yes — no attendance in the first three weeks of a term means administrative withdrawal.

Can a free trial get me withdrawn?

Yes, if you sample passively. Submit something graded in the first days.

Does Purdue Global find me a preceptor?

No. There is no placement guarantee, which is the strongest reason to look elsewhere if you have no route.

Can I come back after withdrawing?

Usually yes, but returning students lose access to the three-week trial.

Every figure above comes from Purdue Global's own published sources and was checked in August 2026. Terms change — confirm anything decision-critical with the university before you enrol.
